Dominion Diamond Ekati

A combination of open nozzle deluge and closed nozzle preaction systems (with a low expansion foam component) are used to protect Ekati’s 7 generators and ancillary equipment in the Power House. The preaction systems are arranged in a pneumatic electric double interlock and tied into the engine computer control systems. Inspection, testing, and maintenance of systems involve detailed planning and execution. False alarms or an accidental discharge are not an option.
